Investigations Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Zulfiqar Hameed on Sunday awarded punishment to four inspectors, one sub-inspector (SI) and two assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) on different charges.
CIA SI Zaheeruddin Babar and PS Mozang’s ASI Yaseen were dismissed from their jobs over involvement in criminal activities. Johar Town Investigation In-charge Zahid Hussain was suspended due to the misuse of power and negligence in duty while Sanda Investigation In-charge Inspector Farrukh Riaz was demoted to SI over poor performance.
The DIG stopped the annual promotion (by one year each) and deducted one year’s service (each) for Inspectors Hassan Aziz, Muhammad Arshad and Muhammad Ashfaq.
Hameed also stopped the annual promotion (for one year) for Inspector Asif Ata and Zakaria Yousaf over failure in arresting accused criminals.
