The Punjab Police (PP) has decided to spend an additional Rs 210 million on the security of VVIPs and to cope with the challenge of terrorism.
The PP will purchase three vehicle mounted jammers for this purpose for which it will issue tenders in the coming few days.
Sources said the Punjab government had released funds of Rs 210 million to the Police Department.
The jammers, having capacity of jamming mobile phones, wireless and remote control signals within the radius of 100 meters, will be installed in modern police jeeps.
