Punjab government has decided to ban unions of all kinds in government institutions including those of teachers throughout the province. The ban has been put on the unions on the directives of Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif and a notification to this effect has also been issued. However, associations have been excluded from the ban. Earlier reacting to the news of this ban, teachers unions and educationists had expressed great concern and strongly rejected the ban.
