A special division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) will hear a petition regarding court premises security matters on September 2. A special division bench comprising LHC Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Sheikh Najam ul Hassan will hear the petition.
The bench had observed that the immediate deployment of trained police personnel be made at the court premises.
The bench said that trained police officers assigned to non-professional and administrative duties should be retrieved forthwith for security duties in the court premises, adding that such induction would foster command, and energise and train the slack police personnel already posted there.
It observed that fresh security plans for each judicial complex in the province should be made to address the specific security threat.
It also sought recommendations for the provision of essential infra-structural changes at judicial complexes.
