Rent Control Act coming soon

Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) will be announcing a new balanced Rent Control Act to facilitate the residents of the federal capital.

All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajaran President Mian Abdul Manan and newly elected Member National Assembly from Faisalabad said this while addressing the business community at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI).

He said the government is aware of the problems being faced by the tenants and the landlords alike due to non-availability of a Rent Control Act. “After taking oath as MNA, my first priority is to present the amended bill of Rent Control Act in the National Assembly for making it into a law,” he added. He said that businessmen are play a crucial role in the development of the national economy and the government is determined to provide them maximum facilitation for promoting business activities.

He also said that the private sector is the driver of economic growth and bureaucracy should bring positive change in its working and shun red-tape approach to facilitate the private sector in its efforts for revival of Pakistan’s economy.

In his welcome address, ICCI President Zafar Bakhtawari said that the election of Mian Abdul Manan as MNA is a source of confidence for all entrepreneurs as he would represent the voice of business community in the National Assembly. He said we hope that the MNA would protect the interests of the business community especially during policy making process of the government.

Zafar Bakhtawari said that the current economic situation of the country demands the public and private sectors to join hands to steer the country out of stagnation. He assured that ICCI would fully support all policies of the government aimed at promoting private sector and improving the economy.

ICCI former President Munawar Mughal said that Mian Abdul Manan is a businessman and his election as MNA is proof of the fact that the present government is serious in giving businessmen due representation in the parliament and addressing their problems.

ICCI Vice President Saeed Ahmad Bhatti, Central Organising Secretary of Traders Action Committee and Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajaran Pakistan Vice Chairman Ajmal Baloch, PML-N President Capital Traders Wing Sheikh Jamshed, Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran Pakistan Secretary Information Khalid Chaudhry and Chakwal Chamber of Commerce & Industry Executive Member Qazi Muhammad Akbar were also present at the occasion.
