PTI driving KP towards secession, claims Fazl

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief Fazlur Rehman on Friday criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for what he said its wrong policies, saying that due to its ineligibility, the party was driving the province towards separation from the state.

Addressing a press conference at the Parliament House, Fazl said the PTI was an inexperienced and an ineligible political party, whose failure would mean the failure of the state. However, he added, the situation in the province would become clearer within a month or so.

He said the PTI-led government had appointed a person having “Ahmadi” beliefs on the position of the provincial advocate general.

Fazl also said a roadmap had been prepared for the government-Taliban talks that might be initiated within a month and a half.

Over statements regarding talks between the government and the Taliban, Fazl endorsed the government’s stance and said it was a positive development.

“The federal government, specifically on this issue, is moving towards a positive direction,” he said, adding that both, the government and the Taliban, were now coming closer.

To a question, he was of the view that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had taken him on board over the initiation of dialogue with the Taliban, adding that a sketch had been prepared by the government in this regard.

It is expected that within a month the dialogues between the two will be opened through some notable and top political personalities.

Highlighting the deteriorated law and order and routine incidents of killings in Karachi, Fazl said the Karachi issue was a political problem and could be resolved by all political parties concerned coming together.

On the Middle East crises, he said Islam did not support a clash between civilisations, and the religion’s name was being intentionally polluted.

He was of the view that the Syrian crisis was a part of international conspiracies, for which Iran would also have to revise its role.

“Iran’s revolution has been restricted to a single sect, whereas on the issue of Egypt, the entire Arab world stands divided,” he said.

To a question, the JUI-F leader was of the view that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government was witnessing a visible decrease in its popularity.

He was of the view that the first budget presented by the PML-N government was not prepared by the party.

“Nawaz has the capability of completing five years in office and the government should focus on the construction of the small dams, to generate electricity on the local level,” Fazl said.

The JUI-F leader said the Kala Bagh dam a “technical” issue and not a political one.
