Police performance and crime rate seem unrelated

Islamabad Capital Territory Police on Friday impounded 54 bikes and 15 vehicles during general hold up while black sheets from 26 vehicles were also removed after issuing fines to the owners, a police spokesman said.

According to details, SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan has directed all police officials to ensure effective security and patrolling measures in their respective areas. Police officials have been directed to take strict action against vehicles being driven without documents and criminal elements.

Police also apprehended 10 beggars from various areas of the city.

 

DRUG PUSHERS, BOOTLEGGERS HELD: Rawalpindi police arrested 18 outlaws and recovered drugs, liquor bottles, weapons and a dagger from their possession.

According to police spokesman, Pirwadhi Police arrested Yasir Hameed and recovered 210 grams of charras from his possession. A lady smuggler was held after 1,260 grams of charras were recovered from her possession.

Similarly, Sadiqabad police nabbed Ansar and recovered 210 grams of charras from his possession. Rawat police arrested Nawabzada and recovered 106 grams of charras from his possession, whereas Gujjar Khan police held Hussnain and recovered same quantity of charras from his custody. Wah Cantt police recovered 140 grams of charras from Usman.

Moreover, Rata Amral police arrested Abdullah and recovered 5 bottles of liquor from his possession, whereas Pirwadhai police recovered 4 bottles of liquor from Barkat. Waris Khan police held Hafeez and recovered 2 bottles of liquor from his possession. Rata Amral police held Liaquat and recovered a 30 bore pistol with 4 rounds from him. Civil line police arrested Ibrahim and recovered one 30 bore pistol along with 12 rounds from his possession.

Chuntra police held Hamza Ameer and recovered a dagger from his possession. Police have registered separate cases against and started further investigation.

 

MOTORBIKE-THIEVES ARRESTED: Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) Police on Friday arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in theft of motorbikes, a police spokesman said.

A team headed by DSP Zubair Ahmed Sheikh along with other police officials including Sub-Inspector Muhammad Azam arrested Taimur Sadiq and Sandal Ejaz during patrolling who later confessed to stealing motorbikes.

Police also recovered two stolen bikes from their possession.
