MQM’s demand for army in Karachi seems legit: Sanaullah

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah declared the Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s demand to call the army to restore peace in Karachi as a constitution move.
Talking to the media personnel outside the Punjab Assembly (PA) on Thursday, Sanaullah said that everybody was of the view that Karachi’s law and order situation was out of control. He further said that the MQM had been calling for army intervention in Karachi since 2010, which he added, was as per constitutional clauses.
Talking about the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s political moves, he said that the PTI had now become ‘Tehreek-e-Dhandli’ and its Chairman Imran Khan was playing the role of an ‘angry khan’ in the political arena.
On Imran’s statement about the returning officers, Rana said that the word ‘sharamnak’ (shameful) could be used for the PTI over its attitude towards the media. He said that accepting election results was everyone’s responsibility and that anyone having reservations about the results must take the matter up with Pakistan’s Election Commission.
Furthermore, responding to a question regarding the 2013 Police Order Bill, Sana said that police inspectors would be given training on the latest grounds so that they could better serve the masses.
