Fazlur Rehman, the chief of his own faction of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), on Thursday said his party is ready to help the government in holding talks with the Taliban.
According to Fazl’s spokesman Jan Achakzai, in a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the cleric welcomed the PM’s determination to resolve issues through talks.
“PML-N has a mandate to make decisions in improving law and order in the country”.
He also said that it is a good omen that all stakeholders have narrowed their differences on counterterrorism strategy, saying that civilian and security establishment need to have a consensus view for comprehensive strategy.
He also said, “The KP government has proved its inability to govern the province effectively. Now it is not a matter of government failure but it is a question of state failure so at some level federal government has to intervene to rescue the situation in KP.”
Achakzai quoted the cleric as saying that the JUI-F has joined the government to achieve its core priorities with the help of the PML-N.
Referring to the priorities, Fazl said that both leaders were in complete agreement. “He will soon take the nation into confidence as to exactly what priorities have been agreed upon.”

  1. Put them in a boat & let it sink accidentally in the Arabian sea. Then they can talk to the god about their plight. I wonder if it will be published.
