PTI doesn’t want confrontation with SC, says Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said the PTI did not want any kind of confrontation with the Supreme Court.

Talking to reporters, he said the PTI had endeavoured more than any other political party for the independence of the Supreme Court which was the guarantor of human liberties.

He said an apology was only sought when someone committed a mistake. “I have done nothing wrong nor have I violated any law,” Khan said.

He said around 400 petitions had been filed with the election tribunals regarding rigging in the May 11 general polls. “Being a politician, I have great concern over the fact that rigging in election 2013 has broken all records of corruption.”

The PTI chief said his party’s stance about the returning officers was clear.

Earlier, Khan had given his reply in the SC through his counsel Hamid Khan, with the stance that he had not used any uncivilised word against the SC, rather he had criticised the returning officers who had become tools in the hands of corrupt politicians.
