Poor to get basic amenities at their doorsteps: Khattak

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak on Wednesday said the provision of education, health and other basic amenities of life at the doorsteps of the poor was the mission of his government.

At a dinner held in the honour of Jamaat-e-Islami chief Manawar Hassan, the chief minister said his government wanted the same educational facilities and opportunities for the children of the poor that were available to the children of the rich.

Khattak pledged that he would not rest until corruption, incompetence and wastage of public resources was completely eliminated from the province.

The chief minister said he was grateful to the coalition partners for extending cooperation in the last three months. “The matters of the province are going smoothly due to such unflinching support.”

Khattak said cooperation and unity amongst the PTI, the JI and other coalition partners would help bring realistic changes in all sectors in the province.

The KP chief minister said the previous governments had promoted corruption, backwardness and lawlessness in the province, adding that the KP government would abolish corruption and restore the confidence of the investors.

Khattak said the government had issued directives and policy guidelines for the implementation of their agenda, adding that after the passage of 90 days, no wrongdoing would be tolerated and he, along with the coalition partners, would visit every locality.

Senior Minister Sirajul Haq, JI Secretary General Liaquat Baloch, Professor Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, Shabir Ahmad Khan, Abdul Waheed Qureshi, provincial ministers, and advisers, were also present.
