The Supreme Court has said no concession will be given to anyone regarding the extremely important cases of missing persons and the secret agencies should make progress in this regard.

A two-member bench, headed by Justice Tassadaq Hussain JIllani, resumed the hearing into the case of missing persons including Umarzada, Umar Bakht, Mulazim Hussain, Abdullah, Ghulam Sajjad Ahmed, Dr Abid Hussain, Mansoor Mehdi, Muhammad Zubair, Niaz and Mehar Khan.

During the proceeding, Defence of Human Rights Chairperson Amna Masood Janjua told the court that two real brothers Umarzada and Umar Bakht were missing from Chakwal. She said the evidence showed that both were in the custody of the ISI, which had to submit an affidavit in the court in this connection, but it had not done so.

The court asked Additional Attorney General Tariq Khokhar about the matter, but the AAG requested the court for two weeks more time. The court accepted his plea and instructed him to present the statement of the ISI after 15 days.

District and Sessions Judge Sukkur presented the report about missing persons Mulazim Hussain and Abdullah. The report revealed that the police had arrested both, but later they were handed over to secret agencies.

The AAG told the court that Dr Abid and Mansoor Mehdi were going to Peshawar from Rawalpindi to attend a conference, when they were taken by the FC, which transferred them to some unknown location.

The court was informed that no devilment was made in the search of Muhammad Zubair so far.

Amna informed the court that according to her information, Zubair was kept in the investigation centre of the ISI located in Islamabad.

The bench said these were not ordinary cases that the elements involved in this case might be excused. The court asked the AAG to arrange an early recovery of the missing persons.
