Security forces seized 12 tonnes of explosive material and arrested one terrorist during a raid at a compound in Khyber Agency’s Bara tehsil on Sunday.
Frontier Scouts official Colonel Naeem said mine bombs, potassium rockets, latest weaponry and ‘jihadi’ books were also seized during the operation.
The explosives recovered were to be used by the terrorists for attacks in Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Karachi, he said.
In a separate incident, three security forces officials were injured as their vehicle hit a landmine in the Shakus area of Bara tehsil.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Frontier Corps (FC) seized a huge cache of narcotics from Lad Gash area of Musakhel district on Sunday.
According to reports, a FC party raided an abandoned house in the area and recovered 1,010 kilogrammes high-quality opium.
No arrest has been made in this regard.
