Lahore High Court Chief Justice (CJ) Umar Ata Bandial directed Toba Tek Singh’s District and Sessions Judge (D&SJ) to ask the police to submit a challan against the accused involved in kidnapping a woman within three days.
Bandial also sought a report about the case from the D&SJ.
The LHC Complaint Cell took notice of the news after it was reported by the press that the mother of a child was returning home after shopping when the accused, tailor Rasheed Ahmad, and his unknown cohort abducted her.
They took her to an unknown location where a third armed accomplice was present. They raped her at gun point before throwing her in a nearby graveyard.
The D&SJ reported that the victim moved an application with the Kamalia Police Station but the police did not register the case.
However, a case was registered on the directions of the D&SJ.
The SHO reported that the victim owed cloth stitching charges to Rasheed. When he demanded his money, she got a false case registered against him and others.
On the other hand however, the victim appeared before the magistrate and retreated from her earlier stance of kidnapping and harassment. However, the police have completed the challan.
The Complaint Cell directed the D&SJ to immediately comply with the CJ’s orders regarding the challan’s submission within three days so that justice could be provided to the victim.
