KP PTI takes back protest call

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter on Sunday took back protest call against the Punjab’s government.
KP PTI Secretary Shaukat Yousufzai said that the decision has been made to delay the protest after release of PTI workers but they will resist again if the Punjab government used same trend in future.
PTI leaders Imran Khan, Javed Hasmi and Shah Mahmood Qureshi condemned the police action against the workers.
Earlier, the PTI had announced to commence protest in KP over Saturday’s detention of PTI leaders and workers at a hunger strike camp on The Mall, Lahore.
However, the KP PTI delayed the decision to protest as Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif ordered release of all workers and leaders.
Operations Wing DIG Rai Tahir confirmed that order was received from CM Punjab for release of the PTI workers. “Protests like these create transport issues” he said.
To a question, the police official warned that a crackdown would be launched if the PTI workers continued the protest.
