Wapda chairman seeks urgent Rs 4b

The Wapda Chairman has immediately sought Rs 4 billion to continue work on Neelum-Jhelum power project. According to a private TV channel report, the WAPDA chairman in his letter written to the ministry of water and power said that the Chinese company had sent a notice to close down work on Neelum-Jhelum project as the company had run short of funds. The company had suspended drilling work through tunnel boring machine and if Rs 4 billion were not released immediately then the company will resort to the court, the letter said. The prime minister and the minister for water and power have been requested to sort out the matter through this letter.
