Security forces killed two militants and arrested 14 others who attacked a checkpost in Hangu on Saturday.
According to sources, a group of armed men opened fire on the security personnel present at a checkpost outside Masjid al Sheraz.
No security men were hurt but two assailants were killed in retaliatory firing by the security forces while the remaining militants took refuge in a house near the mosque.
The security forces cordoned off the house and after a two-hour-long encounter, the militants surrendered. The militants are associated with a banned group involved in various attacks across the country.
