The launching ceremony of the book titled ‘Manto aur Hum’ comprising research papers written on Saadat Hasan Manto took place on Friday.
The Pakistan Academy of Letters (Punjab) and the Punjab Institute of Language Art and Culture jointly organised the ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, renowned Urdu fiction writer and the event’s Chief Guest Intizar Hussain threw light on the contributions of Manto.
Lahore Idara Saqafat-i-Islamia’s Nazim Qazi Javed said that the book would help the reader understand a lot about Manto.
In addition, Altaf Hassan Quershi said that literary conferences and seminars were of great importance and should be held regularly.
Dr Saadat Saeed, Nabeela Qayani, Masood Asher, Amjad Tufail, Tabasum Kashmiri and Raazi Abdi also spoke at the event.
