Gul Hamid Khattak, member of the Awami National Party (ANP) and former union council nazim, and his uncle were shot dead by unidentified armed men near Mardan city on Friday.
Sources said Khattak was coming back to his house after attending a funeral when unidentified men on a motorbike intercepted his car and opened fire, killing Khattak and his maternal uncle on the spot.
The assailants managed to escape.
