An armed clash between two religious groups left five people dead in Kotla Jam area of Bhakkar on Friday.
A policeman and eight civilians were injured in the clash, which brought Darya Khan, Kotla Jam and other adjacent areas to a standstill.
Police confirmed that the gunbattle between the two religious groups killed five people.
Hospital sources said eight people, including a policeman, were injured in the clash.
According to reports, local administration and police failed to overcome the situation and the two groups continued exchanging fire for many hours.
