LHC asks for more documents in Ramday appointment case

The Lahore High Court on Thursday adjourned the hearing of the amended petition against the appointment of Mustafa Ramday as Punjab’s Acting Advocate General (AG) and directed the petitioner to submit additional documents.
A single bench comprising Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan was hearing the petition filed by petitioner’s counsel, Noshab A Khan.
Earlier, the petitioner said that the qualification of the AG was similar to that of a high court judge as per the constitution and it was mandatory that he should be at least 45-years old at the time of his appointment.
He then stated that Ramday was 38-years old which was lesser than the required age. He contended that there was no difference in the qualification of an acting AG and a regular AG as per the apex court decisions.
He pleaded to the court to disallow the appointment of Ramday as it was illegal and unconstitutional.
After observing the initial documents, the court adjourned the hearing and directed the petitioner to submit more documents.
