The capital police on Wednesday arrested eight lawbreakers and seized 7.30 kilogrammes of hashish, 17 bottles of liquor, heroin and weapons, a police spokesman said.
According to details, SSP Muhammad Rizwan directed all police officials for effective crackdown against criminals, bootleggers and drug pushers in the city ensuring their arrest.
Sub Inspector Shafqat Ali from Anti Car Lifting Cell arrested a man during patrolling and recovered 7.30 kilogrammes of hashish from him.
Sub Inspector Ghulam Mustafa from Sihala Police Station arrested two bootleggers; Amin Pervez and Muhammad Saghir, and seized 15 bottles of liquor from their possession.
Sub Inspector Sher Muhammad from Margalla Police Station arrested Ramzan and recovered one 30-bore pistol from him.
ASI Noor Eleahi from Ramna Police Station arrested a Sohail Akhtar and recovered eight cans of diesel from him being sold illegally.
Sub Inspector Muhammad Zamir from Koral Police Station arrested a murder accused Mehmood Ahmed and recovered one kalashnikov from him.
Sub Inspector Muhammad Javid from Aabpara Police Station arrested a drug pusher Muhammad Naeem Akhtar and seized eleven grams of heroin from him.
ASI Mehboob Hussain from Shahzad Town Police Station arrested a bootlegger, Muhammad Yasir, and seized two bottles of liquor from him. Separate cases have been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.
SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan has appreciated the overall performance of officials and said that Islamabad police is determined to ensure effective action against criminals.
