It is not easy getting a promotion or securing a permanent slot in the Traffic Police Department with fake degrees.
While going through the wardens’ documents for their promotion, the Traffic Department found out that the documents including degrees provided by as many as 366 traffic wardens were fake.
It is learnt that the wardens submitted fake degrees in a bid to secure a permanent position in the department.
On the directions of Punjab IGP, an FIR has been launched at Chung Police Station against the wardens.
Investigations are underway, however none of the wardens have been arrested yet.
