Imran Farhat’s sudden decision to not join the Zimbabwe tour was on account of the serious illness of his wife. The news of the decision had let to a rash of rumour mongering as to the possible causes but all these were laid to rest, when the cricketer’s close friend stated that he needed to spend much needed time with his ailing wife and his young children.
Farhat’s wife is suffering from Multiple Sclerosis, which causes progressive deterioration of the nervous system, and as a result of which she is bed ridden.
The suffering of his wife and the responsibility of the young children is weighing on his mind and he wants a break to support them during this critical juncture. But he hopes to return back when he is in a stronger state of mind.
This unfortunate rumour mongering is part of our culture now and it has been nourished by none other than our self destruct Media the Electronic one. It is repulsive and despicable when you start such nonsense.The sooner Authorities put a check on this erratic conduct of E Media the better because public reaction may do severe harm to these Channels mostly funded from abroad.
