Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman on Wednesday termed postponement of by-elections in Dera Ismail Khan’s NA-25 a conspiracy against his party and called for scheduled voting in the constituency.
The Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday night cancelled August 22 by-polls in DI Khan’s National Assembly constituency N-25 over fears of an impending terrorist attack and unfavourable security conditions.
In a letter to the chief election commissioner, the JUI-F chief expressed his reservations over the ECP move and called for immediate voting in his hometown constituency which he vacated after winning the May 11 general elections from all three National Assembly seats he contested.
