Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday announced a four-point solution for eliminating terrorism in the country.
Addressing a public gathering as part of elections campaign in G-9, Islamabad, the PTI chief said in order restore peace in the country, the government had to disassociate itself from American war on terror.
He said the war against terrorism could not be won with the use of force, adding that if the government was sincere about the country’s future, it would have to dissociate itself from the US war on terror.
Giving his four-point solution, he said first of all, the government should disassociate itself from ongoing war on terror and hold talks with the Taliban.
He said, after initiating dialogue process with the Taliban, the government should compensate the victims of drone attacks.
And at the end, he said, the government had the right to wage war against the Taliban who wanted to destabilise the country.
The PTI chief said war was no solution to end ongoing terrorism, rather military operations and drone strikes were fuelling terrorism in the country.
Addressing charged supporters, Khan said after by-elections, his party would put pressure on the PML-N government to raise the drone attacks issue with the United Nations.
“Drone strikes are challenging our sovereignty….we will extend all kind of support to government for taking up drone strike issue with the UN,” he said.
He requested the people to vote for PTI candidate Asad Umar, who was contesting by-elections from NA-48, Islamabad against PML-N candidate Ashraf Gujjar.
Holding party flags in their hands, around hundreds of people, including youth, participated in the gathering.
They raised slogans in favour of the PTI and against the PML-N and JUI-F.
