Declaring the first address of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif disappointing, the PTI and PPP on Monday said Nawaz was intimidated by excessive crisis and lacked decision-making power(s).
Talking to a private TV channel, PTI leader Jehangir Khan Tareen said the PM had disappointed the nation in his 55-minute address. “Nawaz Sharif’s speech lacked any enthusiasm, conviction, as he seemed only to be bemoaning about the crisis.”
“Everybody was well aware of crisis facing the Country, facing morbidities like terrorism, economy; but what exactly was the PM doing to restructure the damaged institutions, was never divulged,” he added.
PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said, “Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had also (already) bemoaned about an empty treasury, and even the Neelum-Jhelum project entailed nothing new, while PM only expressed his best hopes for ending terrorism.”
“The PPP’s government also had a policy for maintaining good relations with India, while PML-N’s finance minister and PM have conflicting statements policies over the issue,” he added.
