Pakistan opener Nasir Jamshed has vowed to fight his way back into the Test side of the national team after being ignored for the tour to Zimbabwe in August.

Despite having a formidable record in the shorter versions of the game, Jamshed who made his Test debut in 2013 failed to make a mark in the three-match Test series against South Africa.

“Test cricket is an important format and essential for every big player. I am disappointed over being dropped from the Test side. I will try my best to regain a place in the five-day format too by giving good performances in ODIs and T20s,” Jamshed was quoted as saying by cricket website.

“If I am given another chance in Test cricket, you will find me a more mature player. I have realised my mistakes in South Africa and I have learnt the lessons,” he added.

Jamshed managed just 51 from four innings against South Africa in February this year.
