The law enforcement agencies have declared 741 residences and offices of NGOs and government and semi-government institutions in the federal capital as security risk, while refusing to provide security to them.

Over 2,500 foreigners living in residential areas and katchi abadis of the capital have also been declared a security risk.

According to reports, more than 461 offices and residences of diplomats and foreign NGOs including attached departments of the United Nations (UN) and Islamabad police and FC personnel have been deployed for their security, while majority also have private security.

As per intelligence reports, it is impossible to provide foolproof security to the buildings. Diplomats of important countries are residing in 280 houses in posh residential areas of the federal capital including Sectors F-6, F-7, E-7 and F-10, while foreign scientists and engineers are residing near Blue Area under poor security arrangements.

In the backdrop of the prevailing law and order situation and intelligence reports the police and administration has excused to provide security to 741 offices and residences due to shortage of officials and sent their reservations to the Ministry of Interior.

It should be mentioned that an operation against the katchi abadis in the federal capital is expected after the approval of Interior Ministry.
