Stacy Ann Ferguson has been best known by the public as Fergie, but that was still just a nickname. Now, it’s official: The 38-year-old singer has changed her name to Fergie Duhamel, taking on her husband Josh’s last name. The Grammy winner’s representative confirmed the name change Friday. Fergie filed the name change request to the Los Angeles Superior Court in July, according to TMZ. The singer’s lawyer wrote in the file that Fergie wanted the change in order to ‘conform to the first name which she is commonly and professionally known as, and has been for many years.’ Fergie is best known as one-fourth of the Black Eyed Peas, but has also successfully released her own material. Her solo debut, 2006’s The Dutchess, launched five big hits, including Fergalicious and ballad Big Girls Don’t Cry. She’s currently working on her solo follow-up, but will probably have to take a break to deal with some happy family matters. Fergie is pregnant with her first child with 40-year-old Josh. The couple recently threw a baby shower at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles, and they look thrilled and ready to start a family together. Josh and Fergie originally began dating around September 2004, and were wed in a Catholic ceremony in January 2000.
