Thailand’s Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra would start her two-day official visit to Pakistan from August 20.
Shinawatra was invited to Islamabad by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. This will be the first visit from a Thai premier to Pakistan in more than a decade.
During her first-ever visit to Pakistan, the Thai PM will chair and inaugurate the first session of the Pakistan-Thailand Joint Trade Committee on August 21.
She will also initiate discussions on bilateral ties, economic relations, trade ventures between Pakistan and Thailand besides discovering new avenues of extended mutual cooperation.
During her visit, Shinawatra will also hold meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari.
One agreement and two MoUs will be signed between Pakistan and Thailand during the Thai PM’s visit.
The Thai PM will be accompanied by a high-level delegation of cabinet members, high officials and businessmen from Thailand.
The Thai business delegation will hold separate meetings with its Pakistani counterpart.
