Leader of Muttahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM), Faisal Sabzwari has said that the new Sindh local government system should be according to the Constitution.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and MQM held another round of talks over a proposed bill on local government system at the Chief Minister House here on Saturday.
Speaking to media after the talks, Sabzwari said that MQM presented recommendations to the PPP per article 140-A of the Constitution.
He added that his party sought devolution of financial and political powers to local bodies representatives in the meeting with PPP leaders.
Sabzwari hoped that PPP would take MQM’s recommendations into consideration before tabling the bill in provincial assembly.
