800MW alternate energy projects in Thatta in doldrums

Sindh Chief Secretary Ejaz Ali Chaudhry on Saturday took notice of the hurdles in alternative energy plans and called top officials on August 20 to discuss and find solution to the issue.

It should be mentioned that in Jhimpur was left unfinished despite one year has been passed for the implementation of the project of 800MW electricity to be generated from the wind.

According to reports, local and international companies are being forced by the police and the revenue department not to invest millions of rupees on wind corridor and rather go away without doing anything. The Sindh government allotted 32,000 acres of land for the project out of which 1,000 acres will feature alternative energy projects. This project has been allotted to 32 companies on rent including China’s Company Zolo and local company Fauji Foundation that are near completion.
