In the backdrop of the prevailing law and order situation, special security arrangements were made for Friday prayers in major cities across the country.
Police officials were deployed on entry and exit gates of Jamia Mosques and public and sensitive points in Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Quetta and Karachi.
In Peshawar, SHOs of all police stations were directed to increase patrolling in the cities, while checking on the check posts in Cantonment areas was intensified. Roads to Saddar areas were sealed and roads leading to major mosques of interior city and Cantt were made one-way.
Similarly, the number of security officials outside mosques was increased in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Quetta and people were only allowed to enter mosques after thorough checking. The citizens were also advised to keep a vigilant eye on their surroundings and to immediately inform law enforcement agencies about any suspicious activity.
