Wife of Muneer, a female school teacher at Islamabad Model School (IMS) was washed away by a heavy current of water while crossing a nullah.
As per details, the teacher came under heavy flow of water when she reached near the nullah located in Sector G-6/4 as she was going to school to attend the Independence Day ceremony.
President Federal government Teachers Association (FGTA) Azhar Khan Awan, CAD Secretary Shaigan Malik and CAD Joint Secretary Rafiq Tahir offered their condolences to the bereaved family.
FGTA President said that teachers were called on emergency basis to attend the ceremonies of Independence Day in schools as these ceremonies were suspended for the last few years. The incident occurred due to unnecessary pressure put on teachers to be marked absent if they did not show up for Independence Day celebrations.
