Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved a special assistance package of Rs 15 million on Friday for the families of martyred personnel of the law enforcement agencies.
According to a PM House statement, the PM lauded the services of the officials and conferred gallantry awards upon them.
The martyred include Fayaz Ahmad Sumbal, Lt(r) Muhammad Hilal and Abdul Mansoor Khan.
Fayaz was martyred on August 8 in a suicide blast in Queeta District Police Lines while reviewing the security arrangements for the funeral ceremony of another officer. Hilal embraced martyrdom when he was ambushed by terrorists on August 6 in Chilas and Khan was martyred while serving as Quetta deputy commissioner.
The package includes Rs 9 million compensation money in addition to a previously approved grant of Rs 1 million.
Additional Rs 5 million cash was approved for the families of the martyred in lieu of the plots to be granted as per the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation’s policy for deceased employees.
