Flour mills owners have started smuggling of flour following increase in the wheat prices as announced by the government.
The government had increased the price of flour before Eid-ul-Fitr and as a result the flour mills owners started smuggling flour to Afghanistan via Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.
Moreover, the increase in wheat prices also increased prices of flour and fine flour being sold at Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,200 per 40kg. The increase has led to shortage of flour and increase in prices of bread (roti) and naan.
The citizens have demanded the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take action against the price hike.
