DIK jail fiasco

We are reaping harvest of seeds sown by tin pot dictators like Ziaul Haq and Pervez Musharraf, who became billionaires whilst this country was pushed into discord, its sovereignty bargained for personal gains. Today we face the humiliation of being repeatedly shamed with events like D I Khan jailbreak, planned and executed from within by terrorists who were raised to defeat the Russians, on tax payers’ money. Zia manipulated this country in the name of religion while Musharraf did the same with his concocted version of enlightened moderation, both damaging the moral and social fiber of this country, giving rise to a culture of institutionalised corruption. This country has been raped and ravaged by few for whom personal selfish agendas were the priority, not the collective universally accepted concept of national interest. In the process Quaid-e-Azam’s vision and his objective of establishing a modern democratic welfare state was subordinated to whims of individuals with neither any stakes in this country nor any fear of accountability. These over ambitious men, without any vision but lots of power, have by their greed based instincts driven Pakistan to a state of perpetual discontent, disharmony and insecurity. Those who planned DIK or Bannu jailbreaks are a product of Zia’s religious exploitation to achieve for himself a hold on power and attain financial benefits, ending up destroying this country economically. They have inflicted more damage to Pakistan than by our external enemies. Our external enemies must surely have exploited this situation by funding terrorism, but then what else one can expect from them. The solution lies in self assessment, accountability and serious soul searching, instead of the confusion where we find many sympathisers for these terrorists within our political and paid establishment and the realisation that a lot needs to be rectified within political thought process and mindset of security apparatus. Instead of mere rhetoric, it is time that priority be people of Pakistan, its sovereignty, economic revival and nation building, instead of whims of individuals, be they elected or usurpers.

  1. Why forget that this country was raped by all who got the opportunity…why name only two gentlemen…? Hence, we are reaping what has been sowed by,all,of us.Society is made up of all of us not the only two named gentlemen. We are weak and coward to face the truth….a nation does not become without sacrifice to stand up against all those who are responsible for the mess….so STOP singling out only Zia and Musharraf…why forget Ayub, Yahya, and ZAB…and include all of us who are all an accomplice for the wrong that has been done to our country till this day….and be prepared to answer to Allah swt on the day of judgement….what has been our contribution to fight the ills that our country has gone through.

  2. Why forget Nawaz Sharif,Zardari, Benazir, Ch Shujaat,Pervez Elahi,Yousaf Raza, and all members of Parliament and MPAs Iftikhar Ch.All of them are thriving and virtually selling our assets. I heard Ishaq Dar mentioning two illreputed men as stakeholders justifying their presence in Govt meetings. One of these persons is Mansha something. To call such people stakeholders is an insult to the people. It is time to make more provinces because it has been proved that it is working against our national interest.Remmember how ZA Bhutto got rid of majority populated East Pakistan? When will we learn from our history? The current govt does not represent the entire people of Pakistan. It represents only Punjab.Their priorities do not match with national priorities.

  3. I dont understand why you called Musharraf a tin pot dictator whereas every point you mentioned is Zia's fault. had musharraf been given a chance and had things not spun out of control, Pakistan would have been at a much better place thats for sure.

  4. Agreed with all said above, HOWEVER, IT IS THE WEALTHY N EDUCATED N WITH GOLD SPOONS WHO HAVE RAPED THIS CONTRY. BABOOS THE SO CALLED OFFICERS WHO CALL THEMSELVES BUREAUCRATS, ARMY ( NATIONS SON IN LAWS) , DOCTORS ENGINEERS, POLITICIANS,BIG RELIGIOUS NAMES AND BIG BUSINESSMEN. THEY ARE THE STAKE HOLDERS AND THEY ARE THE CORRUPT OF ALL. THEIR LUST FOR POWER N MONEY IS AS BIG THAT THEY WOULD GO ON TO SNIFF IN THEIR DAUGHTERS LINENS TOO. GOD BLESS US

  5. As is normal for Pakistan, the bashing of the past has begun. We are champions at it. The present Govt. too is composed of the past. Who elected it ?WE.

  6. it was during ZAB when pakistan started involvement in Afghanistan for the first time and during Benazir first rule Talibans were created with the help of CIA..with the support of JUI , J.I and ISI

  7. Why blaming Gen Zia Nawaz Sharif should be happy for all that late Gen did for him Why blame Gen Musharraf(trd) He done nothing wrong what he was supposed to do when US intended to invade AFghanistan there was no other choice. What is the fate of US must not be forgotten economically and morally he lost too much. Nation knows how useful Nawaz Sharif and his cronies are and soon people of Pakistan will know the rigging done with a design in General Election to defeat Imran Khan Today people of Pakistan especially young generation is very well organized and aware of all ins and outs of so called democratic system of PAKISTAN. Nation made a mistake not to come out and protest against vote rigging in the country Elections were marred and totally unfair Majority knows and EC must recount with checking of finger prints to show that Pakistan is a democratic country Most of all the collaborators must be punished who helped Nawaz Sharif to get more seats.

  8. I blame IK for all the corruption in the country. If he didn`t go on about corruption then there would be no corruption. Why hasn`t this guy been locked up for looting billions from the national treasury. If you want end corruption then we need more leaders like the Zardaris and Sharifs who follow the example set by Hazrat Umar and Hazrat Ali.

  9. I see how much expatriate Pakistanis send to Pakistan, that amount is usually the same as our foreign exchange reserves. It is interesting to think my 180 million countrymen do not add a penny to it. What do I know, I never studied economics.

  10. I must admit that i am indulging into the golden age of nostalgia. After all that is all one can do when one approaches the end of a bygning. We can curse Pres.Ayub but let me ask who brought green revolution to Pakistan? He invited experts from Harvard University to Pakistan for advice. The result the agriculture sector blossomed. Who introduced TV to Pakistan ahead of of our neighbour India? Ayub. Who signed the water treaty With India that has stood the test of times? Ayub. OK he outlived his usefulnes thanks to illness and foxy ZAB but one cannot deny his accomplishments.
Now Musharaf, it is too early to pass a judgement but who freed the media so that it could bring him down?. Did Zia or ZAB allow it –NO.

The last two brought the clash of religions into Pakistan without a remedy to cure it. Need i say more?
