IK forms flood-relief committee

Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has constituted a 15-member special committee to deal with emerging situation after heavy rain in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi and advised them to carry out relief operation in the flood-hit areas immediately.

The special committee lead by Central Senior Vice President Amir Mehmood Kayani is assigned by the chairman to immediately reach out flood-hit areas and work to rescue public and mitigate losses.

He also advised the committee to provide relief material to the victims and help people in shifting to safer localities. The chairman said that we will stand by the people and will continue fighting against natural or manmade disasters, according to a press release. Imran Khan in his statement also urged district management and municipal administration to ensure safe evacuation of flood water to avoid calamity.

The special committee comprises of Zahid Hussain Kazmi, Sadaqat Abbasi, Raja Rashid Hafeez, Ijaz Khan, Arif Abbasi, Asif Mehmood, Ejaz Rafi Butt, Tariq Mehmood Kayani, Shahid Gilani, Naveed Kayani, Chaudhry Zubair, Imran Hayat, Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan and Chaudhry Asghar.
