A torrent swept away a passenger bus in the upper Khanpur area on Tuesday.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus was carrying over 60 passengers, including women and children. Many of the passengers were recovered alive but some are still missing, they said.
However, Haripur District Police Officer (DPO) Nabiur Rehman said all the passengers were recovered alive. Some had sustained minor injuries and had been shifted to Khanpur hospital, he said.
According to sources, the incident occurred when the bus driver tried to take his vehicle across the flooded road of village Choee.
The Rawalpindi-bound bus, which was coming from the Hally area in upper Khanpur valley, broke down in the middle of the water and a heavy torrent swept it down the small bridge.
