Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) former member of National Assembly Mehdi Hassan Bhatti was arrested on Tuesday following the Supreme Court’s dismissal of his bail plea in a gas theft case.
A two-membered bench of the SC led by Justice Chaudhry Ejaz Ahmad took up the case for hearing.
The court dismissed Bhatti’s appeal and he was arrested from the court’s premises.
Bhatti was elected as a MNA on a PML-Q ticket in 2002 general elections from Hafizabad. He was charged with meter-tampering and gas pilferage earlier this year.
