Tension between neighbours Pakistan and India continued to escalate, as staff at offices of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in Mumbai and New Delhi were threatened by Indian extremist groups on Monday.

Following the threats, Pakistan has requested Indian authorities to ensure security and safety of both PIA offices.

On August 7, the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi was attacked by supporters of the Congress Party’s Youth Wing, while the Lahore Bound friendship bus was stopped in Amritsar by protesters in Amritsar on August 10 in protest over alleged LoC ceasfire violations by Pakistan Army.
