The government has filed a petition in the Supreme Court (SC) seeking review of its decision in connection with audit of accounts of 19 institutions by Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP).
The petition was filed through Attorney General (AG) Munir A Malik.
All institutions and petitioners, including Hamid Mir, Absar Alam, PEMRA and others have been made respondents.
The government took the plea that the AGP could not audit these institutions, that include SECP, National Police Foundation, NADRA, Ordinance Factory, Punjab Rural Support Program FBR and DHA.
The court has been prayed to review its decision in the case.
The AG had earlier taken the ground in his arguments that the AGP was competent enough to audit secret funds of any institution.
