District Administration gears up for another monsoon spell

Islamabad District Administration on Monday said that they were fully equipped and on high alert to deal with floods as another spell of monsoon has been forecasted by Meteorological Department.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad Amer Ali Ahmed has directed all the assistant commissioners, rescue teams and concerned officials to remain on high alert in their respective areas and take make precautionary arrangements particularly in the low lying areas.

Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat) Assistant Commissioner(Rural) conducted surveys of cause ways and embankments, Nullah Korang and Swan in the rural areas along with officials of local government and rural development, SDPOs and civil defense. They advised the residents to take precautionary measures in case of flash flooding.

The administration has also set up a control room and can be reached at 051-99261504 under the supervision of ADC (G) Islamabad for effective coordination with the concerned departments.

Meanwhile, the district administration has already enforced ban on swimming in nullahs. District Health Department will carry out vaccination in affected areas. Chlorination of water supply schemes is also being carried out in the rural areas. District Veterinary Department will vaccinate livestock in rural areas to prevent outbreak of any epidemic.
