Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif has constituted an 11-member high-powered Coordination Committee for the 2013 Lahore Shopping Festival.
According to a CM office notification, the committee comprising National Assembly Member (MNA) Pervaiz Malik, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Farooq Iftikhar, Senior Vice President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, Lahore district coordination officer (DCO), Punjab Home secretary, Industries secretary, Information secretary, Excise and Taxation secretary, chief traffic officer, operations deputy inspector general (dig) and Punjab Horticulture Authority director general would frequently meet to make the event a big success.
The committee is required to meet immediately to discuss the modalities and support required from the provincial government by the LCCI, the notification states.
Furthermore, once the arrangements for the festival are finalised, the committee has been directed to forward a report to the CM’s office.
The Lahore Shopping Festival is an annual event of the LCCI and was designed to expedite economic and commercial activities.
