Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khurshid Shah on Saturday said Islam was being defamed by terrorists who had nothing to do with the ideology of the religion’s universal laws.
Talking to reporters, he said the government had only acquainted itself with tax and price hikes. “The opposition will protest against the silence of the government in the next session of the NA,” he added.
He appealed to the masses to defend themselves without expecting anything from the government as the latter would do nothing to protect their rights of life and property; and that the government was more concerned with collecting funds in the name of so called progress and prosperity.
He said that the all parties conference on terrorism had been postponed due to stubborn attitude of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan.
Commenting on the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s secret communication with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the PPP, he said the MQM should avoid riding two horses at the same time. “Politics is a serious matter and not a child’s play,” he added.
Furthermore, he said that those shedding blood of innocent people for their vested interests were not actually Muslims.
He stated that the entire nation from Karachi all the way to Khyber should confront the terrorists by shunning away their fears.
