Rescue 1122 to remain on high alert during Eid

Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Emergency Ambulance, Rescue and Fire Services will remain on high alert during Eid holidays throughout the province in case of emergencies.

Rawalpindi Rescue 1122 staff will remain on special duties in district control room and emergency rescue stations with 14 ambulances, 10 fire vehicles, two rescue vehicles and two specialised vehicles.

Rescue posts will be established at Ayyub Park, Nawaz Shareef Park, Jinnah Park, GPO Chowk Saddar and near mosques at Children Park Gawalmandi, Liaquat Bagh Park, Rawal Chowk and 22 Number Chungi Tench Bhatta.

In Murree 150 rescuers will remain on high alert with eight fully equipped ambulances and three fire vehicles. The rescuers have been deputed at Rescue Academy Pindi Point, Charra Pani, 17 Miles and Khajut Expressway, whereas four key points have been established at Mall Road, Jikha Galli Bazaar, Company Bagh and Kotli Sattian for quick response in case of emergency.

Rescue Punjab Director General (DG) Dr Rizwan Naseeer reviewed special emergency arrangements in a meeting held at Rescue 1122 Headquarters. The Provincial Monitoring Cell briefed the DG on emergency plans for Eid. Emergency ambulances, rescue and fire services at important mosques and Eidgahs have been deployed in all provincial districts. Rescue mobile posts of emergency paramedics have also been deployed at important places of mass gatherings.

District Emergency Officers have been instructed to organise meetings with local mosque committees to ensure local volunteers are available in case of emergencies.

Meetings with management of hospitals were also held for better management. The Provincial Monitoring Cell established at Rescue 1122 Headquarters will remain operational round the clock to ensure effective implementation of District Emergency Plans. District Control Rooms will also be functional round the clock for provision of effective emergency services to the public. Leaves of all rescue officials have been cancelled.
