Police arrests 31 miscreants

Police on Thursday arrested 31 suspects and recovered 211 wine bottles, one and a half kilogrammes of hashish, one motorcycle, nine mobile phones and illegal weapons from their possession.

According to a police spokesman, while following the directives of high-ups, Assistant Sub Inspector of Golra Police Station along with a team during checking arrested Muhammad Anwar Zaib and Muhammad Saen from Islamabad Chowk and recovered two Kalashnikovs along with 77 rounds from their possession, while Sub-Inspector Nusrat Ali arrested Muhammad Naeem and recovered one and a half kilogrammes of hashish in a search opertation.

Assistant Sub Inspectors of police stations of Golra Turab-ul-Hassan and Tipu Sultan nabbed Ziaullah and Bakht Munir and recovered 30 bore pistol and one 8mm rifle. Similarly, Inspector Munir Khan of Tarnol Police Station and ASI Ali Khan apprehended Rashid Ali, Shahid Mehmood and recovered one 30 bore pistol and one 12 bore gun from them. Ramna Police Station ASI Muhammad Nawaz arrested Umar Khayyam, Aizaz and Anum Yusuf involved in immoral activities.

Margalla Police Station Inspector Shafqat Mehmmood arrested Ashfaq Masih and recovered 54 bottles of wine, while CIA Police arrested Javed Irfan and recovered stolen mobile phones from his possession. Aabpara Police Station, during a search operation arrested Altaf Masih and recovered four bottles of wine, while Inspector Tahir Khan nabbed Zeeshan and recovered 105 bottles of wine.

Kohsar Police Station ASI Safdar arrested Naeem Ashir and Faraz Ejaz and recovered 45 bottles of wine from them whereas Secretariat Police Station ASI Muhammad Farooq arrested Rameez and recovered three bottles of wine from his possession.

Moreover, Kohsar Police Station arrested seven involved in gambling and recovered Rs 9,100 and seven mobiles from their possession. Shahzad Town Police station arrested Ghulam Ishfaq, Aurangzeb and Shafqat Hussain involved in robberies and recovered a stolen motorcycle from them. Inspector Qaim Ali Shah arrested Muhammad Shafique carrying a 30 bore pistol. Loi Bher Police station arrested Rahil, Noba Rahil, Azhar Shaheen and recovered one stolen mobile phone from their possession.

Separate cases have been registered against those arrested and further investigation is underway.

 

VEHICLES IMPOUNDED: Police on Thursday impounded 87 bikes, 14 vehicles and removed black papers from 32 tinted glass vehicles during general hold up in the city, a police spokesman said.

According to details, SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan directed all police officials to ensure effective security and patrolling measures in their respective areas. The officials have been instructed to take strict action against vehicles being driven without documents, professional beggars and criminal elements.

Police also arrested 16 suspects including three beggars during search operation in various areas of the capital.

The SSP appreciated the performance of police officials and directed them to ensure effective policing measures in their respective areas.
