WAPDA workers rally against FIA’s harassment

Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) workers on Tuesday staged a rally outside the Lahore Press Club against the incessant price hike and the harassment by FIA officials to WAPDA field staff.
The rally was held under the aegis of the All Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric CBA Workers Union.
Addressing the participants, veteran Union Leader Khurshid Ahmed declared the union’s decision to continue working for the campaign’s success and for the prevention of electricity pilferage.
He urged the FIA officials not to punish any worker without a fair inquiry. He demanded security for all the field staff.
He called for the imposition of taxes on feudal lords and the well-off instead of increasing prices.
Other union representatives including Osama Tariq, Zakir Ali Shah, Rana Shakoor, Sajid Kazmi, Ch Maqsood Ahmed, Sh Muhammad Shoaib, Rana Akran, Muzaffar Mateen, Syed Zulqarnain Shah declared the union’s decision to continue to make the drive against electricity pilferage a success.
