A man given poison by unidentified men died late on Tuesday night.
WASA Tube-well Operator and resident of Bagh Gull Begum, Atta Muhammad, 45, died due to poisoning. Reports said that he was performing his duty at a tube-well in Walton’s Sadi Park Graveyard last night when one Shah and other unidentified men poisoned him before escaping from the scene. The victim, in critical condition, was shifted to the nearest hospital by rescue 1122 officials after being informed of the incident by locals.
The rescue source said that the lungs of the victim had been badly affected by the poison, and he was later shifted to another hospital but could not recover and died last night.
According to an eyewitness, Shah and several unidentified men gave Atta the poison, adding that a few days ago the latter fought with another tube-well operator, Habib. Furthermore, he said that the WASA SDO officially inquired about the men involved in the scuffle due to negligence in their work.
He said that Atta was the father of two children named Guriya, five, and Shahid Subani, four.
The Walton Police shifted the body to the morgue for the postmortem and start searching for the criminals after filing an FIR at Walton police station.
